She was in the room with the guillotines again.  All she wanted was out, but she couldn't seem to escape.  She could hear the squeaking of some small rodents off somewhere else in the mostly dark room.  The only light came from the two torches by the door she was standing in front of and the two torches by the door on the other side of the room—the way out.  The door behind her was locked.  She had checked.
Aside from the noise of the rodents, all she could hear was the sounds of the blades of the countless guillotines falling down and then being cranked back up only to fall again.  No one was operating them.
She knew what she had to do.  She pulled her hair back and began running across the great expanse.  She had to be careful not to fall off the ledge she was on, lest she fall to her doom.  But she also had to be careful of the falling blades.  She had to jump through all the guillotines to get to the other side, for there was no way around them.  Their width was identical to the width of the ledge she was on.
Bats chased her as she ran, rats nipped at her ankles.  Bones crunched under her feet and she tried not to think about it too much.
She almost fell once, and she lost her footing and about slipped of the ledge.  She was able to catch herself though and continue running through the near-dark room.
At last, she made it to the other side.  She threw open the door and ran through, slamming it behind her.  She gasped.
She was in the room with the guillotines again.
