Chapter 22-Blast Away

-Traverse Town-
"Come see the amazing Demetrius!" Demyx (Demetrius) called into the mic.
The people from First District slowly gathered around, slightly skeptical of something so obviously disruptive and out of the norm, but intrigued nonetheless.
Demyx put a hand over the mic and looked over at Luxord.  "Hey, do you mind going out in the crowd and collecting the donations? We could probably make more of a profit that way."
Luxord raised an eyebrow.  "Just because I agreed to be your business manager because you have no concept of how munny works, does not mean I will be collecting your donations."
"Suit yourself, but we'll need the munny," Demyx said with a shrug.
Luxord flashed a smile.  "I have my own ways of making munny."
Demyx was able to get a glimpse of a few cards and some dice up Luxord's sleeve before Luxord disappeared off of the makeshift stage and into the slowly growing crowd.
Demyx sighed and took off his fedora.  He placed it on the edge of the stage.
"Donations in there," he said.
Two boys came up and threw in some munny.  He smiled.
Luxord was already gambling in the back of the crowd by the time Demyx started playing.  He couldn't help but laugh however, he'd heard this song before.
"Who is this kook?" asked a tall man with spikey blonde hair dressed primarily in black.
"Just someone trying to make a living," Luxord responded, maneuvering his way over to him.  "As am I, care for a game of cards?"
The man raised his eyebrows.  "No thanks, I think I've had enough of chance for now."
A girl with long brown hair also dressed primarily in black walked up next to him.  "Come on, Cloud, a little game could be fun!"
Luxord smiled.

-Hollow Bastion—Castle-
Vexen cringed as he began programming the data for the first Xehanort Replica.  Several Replicas had already asked him if he wanted help, but he did not.  He didn't want any of his own Replicas to have experience creating the Xehanort Replicas.  He claimed it was for security purposes, and there was a level of security to it.  However, part of him was just selfish and wanted to do this himself.
But, if he was the only one who knew how to create a Xehanort Replica, then the universe would probably be better off.
Vexen Replica Epsilon dropped in.  "I come bearing the status of the rest of the Replicas," he stated.
"Go on," Vexen said, looking up.
"Twenty-one are now complete and perfectly operational.  Three are still processing."
"Very good," Vexen said.  "Thank you."
"Would you care for some tea or biscuits?" Epsilon asked.  "Delta was wondering."
"Perhaps later," Vexen replied.  "I need to be working."
Epsilon bowed.  "One other thing."
"Yes?" Vexen said, trying to keep his eye from twitching.  For some reason, Epsilon tended to be more annoying than any of the others.
"Sora and his friends have returned to Hollow Bastion."
Well, at least this was news that Vexen actually cared to hear—not that he didn't care about his Replicas; however, Sora was… well, he was special.
"If they come to the castle, help them by any means necessary.  Pass that along to the other Replicas, but breathe no word of it to any of the others."
Epsilon nodded and left.
Vexen went back to cringing.

-Hollow Bastion—Restoration Committee Headquarters-
"How dare you leave such a beautiful ship unattended!" Cid shouted, throwing a hammer at Sora's retreating figure.
The fact that Sora then laughed only made Cid more angry.  "I should have stolen it!" Cid said.  "That Gummi makes me drool.  I should have stolen it!"  He was shouting by this point.  "Or at least moved it so you couldn't find it! But how dare you come back here and ask if you can have supplies! You just disappeared on us like that! Dark corridors my…"
"Does he frequently get this angry?" Riku asked, trying to contain his own laughter.
"Yuffie calls him a cranky-legged-old-man behind his back," Kairi said.  "So, probably."
"Got the supplies," Axel said, hanging out the window of the ship.
"How did you get there…?" Sora began, but the answer was obvious.
"He had a power drill!" Axel replied.   "How else was I supposed to get out of the kitchen?"
"I hope Leon isn't mad at us," Sora said, looking back.
"He's not," Kairi said.  "Last I checked him and Yuffie were dying of laughter."
"Cid," they heard Aerith call.  "You know it's not healthy for you to get overly excited after the last cannon backfire…"
They didn't get a chance to hear Cid's reply, for Riku was already firing up the ship.
You all can thank Riku for this chapter, he was persistent.
FYI, Later this week/next week I'm gonna be cleaning up this story-condensing chapters and stuff because it's turning out to be much larger than I had originally anticipated. But hey, I'll go with it. Don't worry, all the story will still be here--just in less places than it currently is ^^

OMG I'm all caught up! I'm updating here the same day I added this chapter on FF and this is the last condensed chapter so next update will be ALL NEW STUFF!
Okay, I'm probably the only one who cares... but seriously, I'm excited.
